Boating

Personal watercraft are permitted in several locations:

Gorge Metro Park - BoatingGorge Metro Park

Kayakers may access the Cuyahoga River through Gorge Metro Park. However, an access permit is required to go off trail, and a valid permit is neither expressed nor implied approval of kayaking on the river by Summit Metro Parks.

Please note: The park district does not own or control the water in the Cuyahoga River flowing through Gorge Metro Park. To access the water from our parks, please submit a Special-Use Permit. Kayakers must contact the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to determine what, if any, permission is needed before beginning the activity. Kayakers can visit American Whitewater for a comprehensive overview of this section of the river.

Liberty Park - BoatingLiberty Park

Boating is permitted with personal/private watercraft in the Tinkers Creek Area of Liberty Park. Boats may be placed in the water by hand as conditions permit. 

Munroe Falls Metro Park - BoatingMunroe Falls Metro Park

As conditions permit, boats (including kayaks) may be placed in the water by hand May through November.  

Munroe Falls Metro Park - BoatingNIMISILA RESERVOIR Metro Park

As conditions permit, boats (electric motors only) may be placed in the water by hand year-round.  Boaters must follow Ohio Department of Natural Resources boating rules and regulations.

Silver Creek Metro Park - BoatingSilver Creek Metro Park

Launched from the boathouse at 5171 S. Medina Line Rd., Norton, boats may be placed in the water by hand year-round as conditions permit.
