Join us for this award-winning activity for people of all abilities!

About Spree for All

First-year hikers earn a neck lanyard and commemorative pin. Veteran hikers earn the commemorative pin. Hikes are FREE for all participants. Out-of-county residents pay to receive their rewards ($10 for first-year hikers, $5 for veteran hikers).

To Participate

1. Sign up below

2. Download your participant form

3. Complete five hikes in the designated timeframe — on five different trails, the same trail or any combination of trails — to receive a reward. This year only, you may choose to view your hikes online rather than completing them in person.

4. Update your form as you hike or view your chosen trails

5. When you've completed a minimum of five hikes, mail the form to receive your rewards (see below for details)

Receive Your Rewards

In compliance with Summit County's November 19 Stay at Home Advisory, remaining spree rewards pick-up sessions have been canceled.

To receive Fall Hiking Spree or Spree for All rewards, hikers should mail their completed forms to 975 Treaty Line Rd., Akron 44313 or scan and email them to nrcsrs@summitmetroparks.org. A self-addressed stamped envelope is NOT necessary. Hiking spree pins and shields will be mailed FREE of charge to the address listed on the form. Rewards remain free for Summit County residents. Out-of-county residents will be contacted regarding payment for their spree rewards ($5 per pin or shield). Hiking spree staffs for first-year hikers will be distributed at a later date.

Trail Info

The information kiosk is the starting point at each trailhead and includes a legend with the following symbols:

  • Blue Circle = ¼ mile round trip
  • Yellow Square = ½ mile round trip
  • Green Triangle = 1 mile round trip

Mileage markers are provided as an aid. You do not need to hike any prescribed length to receive spree credit.
