Park Ranger (Full-time)
Serves as a Law Enforcement Commissioned Peace Officer enforcing State of Ohio laws (Ohio Revised Code,) and Park District rules and regulations. Protects life, property, and maintains good order within the parks. Patrols assigned areas for the purpose of assisting park patrons to have a safe and enjoyable park experience. Provides information, education, and assistance to park visitors to achieve safety, security and resource protection. Performs duties with tact, diplomacy, discretion, respect, and impartiality. Seasonal Maintenance
Performs preventative and routine maintenance of park lands, buildings and facilities through trail upkeep, landscaping, sign installation, painting, minor building repairs and janitorial work. See Job Description
Seasonal Conservation Maintenance
Performs duties necessary for the conservation of park natural areas, maintenance of park properties, areas, buildings and facilities on a seasonal basis and helps with the construction of certain park improvement projects. This position requires commitment to 40 hours per week with primary reporting location of 790 Van Buren Avenue in Barberton. Anticipated start date is September 1, 2024. See Job Description
Seasonal Naturalist
Under the direction of the Chief of Community Engagement and Community Engagement Managers, helps in creating and presenting a variety of nature-based educational programs and recreational experiences primarily to urban and non-traditional audiences throughout Summit County who would not routinely visit Summit Metro Park programs or facilities because of identified barriers.
