Fishing in the Metro Parks

FishingNew and experienced anglers alike can enjoy pond, lake and river fishing in the Metro Parks. Below you'll find resources to help ensure a great experience as well as a list of park fishing rules. Expand the Metro Park listings to learn what kind of fish are available at each location.

Fishing Rules

  • All anglers are reminded that an Ohio fishing license is required for all persons, age 16 and up. Purchase and print a fishing license online.
  • Prohibited fishing equipment includes traps, spears, gigs, bow and arrow, and any form of unattended hooks (i.e. setlines, float lines, trotlines and jug fishing).
  • Fishing is permitted daily in Summit Metro Parks from dawn to dusk. Summit Metro Parks may close waters to fishing, as it deems appropriate for your safety. Signs will be posted if an area is not available for fishing.
