Summit Metro Parks will host a “Find-A-Truck” scavenger hunt in the parks Saturday, August 15 and Sunday, August 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. This family-friendly activity is offered an alternative to the park district’s annual Touch-A-Truck event, which has been canceled this year due to COVID-19. Park district equipment will be placed for kids and their caregivers to find at three centrally located Summit Metro Parks locations: Cascade Valley Metro Park (1061 Cuyahoga St., Akron), Goodyear Heights Metro Park (2077 Newton St., Akron) and Sand Run Metro Park (Sand Run Pkwy., Akron). Trucks will include a dump truck, bucket truck, 1928 Model AA pickup and more! A Leppo Rentals boom lift painted to promote autism awareness will be included as well. To participate, visit https://www.summitmetroparks.org/publications-and-downloads.aspx to print a kid-friendly checklist to bring along on your hunt. For visitor safety, touching and climbing on the trucks is strictly prohibited. : , OH
