Wild & Scenic Film Festival

| The Nightlight

Summit Metro Parks Foundation is excited to bring the world-class Wild & Scenic Film Festival to Akron to celebrate the beauty of nature and the importance of conservation. All proceeds will benefit the Summit Metro Parks Foundation’s work in supporting the park district’s mission to conserve, sustainably manage, and value natural resources for the health and enjoyment of our community, and inspire people to connect with nature through clean and safe parks.

All showings will have the same collection of films. The compilation will feature inspiring stories from around the U.S. and the world.

Check back for a link to purchase tickets. Tickets can only be purchased through the website and are not available at the Nightlight box office.

The films will be shown at The Nightlight, an independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit movie theater in Akron, Ohio, dedicated to connecting our community through the shared cinema experience.

    It’s a birthday party and you’re invited! Join us for an open house to celebrate the 4th anniversary of the nature center’s grand opening. Activities for all ages and refreshments will be provided.

    Touch-a-Truck

    Join us for Touch-a-Truck, presented by Wayside Furniture! People of all ages can sit in and explore more than a dozen Summit Metro Parks and local emergency response vehicles. A special autism- and sensory-friendly hour will be held 10-11 a.m., free of horns, music and flashing lights. The fun will continue from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    Fall Family Outing

    Fall into autumn fun at this FREE event featuring lumberjack shows, hayrides, bonfires, naturalist activities, music, refreshments and more. A wheelchair-accessible hay wagon is available.
