Looking for Butterflies

Time to look for butterflies! Join a naturalist for a short talk and fun facts about the butterflies of Summit County. Afterwards, we will walk on the grounds and learn which plants attract them.

    Join a naturalist to learn how the last glacial event profoundly changed the Summit County landscape. See how Summit County looked 10,000 years ago: no trees or plants, just vast areas of sand, rocks, snow and ice. Learn about Lake Cuyahoga, a large glacial lake that once covered Akron to depths of over 100 feet.

    Kids in the Garden

    Join us in collaboration with Let’s Grow Akron for weekly hands-on gardening activities for children of all ages. Seed, sow, water, harvest…and enjoy! Each week we’ll have a game or craft, garden activity and a snack themed around what is growing and ready to harvest in the garden. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be held indoors.
