Join us in collaboration with Let’s Grow Akron for this weekly gardening program for children of all ages. Each class builds upon the last and will be centered on what’s growing and ready to harvest in the garden.
Kids and their adult companions can join a naturalist to learn about the crawling, slithering, scaly and slimy creatures found in our parks. Meet one of our resident education animals before taking a short walk in search of toads, snakes and more in their natural habitat.
Children ages 3 to 6 and their adult companions will learn about black bears, beloved animals native to Ohio. A craft and game are part of the program. Please make other arrangements for younger children unable to remain in infant seats or strollers. Registration is required and begins on 6/5.
Nancy Secrist will share the history and growing tips for Hemerocallis. She will enlighten us with the latest flower advances, such as unusual forms, rebloomers, minis, giants and colors.
