Beginning November 4, 2024, a portion of the Jogging Trail at Sand Run Metro Park will be closed to provide necessary repairs to a failing retaining wall.
The trail will be closed from Chestnut Drive (the entrance to Chestnut Lodge off Sand Run Parkway) to the Shadowfield Area. Repairs are expected to be complete by May 2025 or sooner. During the closure, visitors are encouraged to enjoy the open portions of the Jogging Trail including the new extension between Portage Path and Merriman Road that opened earlier this summer.
Sand Run Parkway will close November 5 – 8, then remain open with the roadway along the closure converted to one-way traffic. For updates and current closure date estimates, visit bit.ly/SMP-Alerts.
