Assigned to the community engagement department, works with the chief of community engagement, community engagement managers and staff to carry out the department’s mission. Plans, schedules and conducts interpretive, educational and recreational activities throughout the park district for Summit Metro Parks.

Maintenance Utility Technician
Under the direction of the operations service manager, the project manager, the fleet manager, or other designated supervisor, the maintenance utility technician maintains and enhances park district’s lands and facilities by performing semiskilled and skilled jobs in a manner, which assures the highest standard of maintenance, safety and service to the public. Responsible for maintaining buildings and structures and to keep the electrical, mechanical, plumbing facilities and equipment in good working conditions.

Park Technician III
Under the direction of the operations service manager, the park technician III maintains and enhances park district lands and facilities by performing a wide range of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance and construction tasks to build, repair, and install wooden or metal structures and fixtures on a variety of park projects. This position is responsible for operating a variety of carpentry hand, power, and measuring tools, heavy equipment, trucks and trailers, snowplows, and specialized equipment necessary for construction and maintenance activities.
