A FREE, inclusive event for all ages

Vehicle lovers of all ages: Summit Metro Parks will host Touch-a-Truck, presented by Wayside Furniture, at Munroe Falls Metro Park (521 S. River Rd., Munroe Falls) on Saturday, August 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
An autism- and sensory-friendly hour, free of horns, music and flashing lights, will be held from 10 – 11 a.m. The Summit DD Mobile Sensory Bus will be onsite for the full duration of the event, providing a place where people with sensory needs can take a break from the stimuli of the event. To prepare visitors for what to expect at the event, a Touch-a-Truck “social story” is available at bit.ly/TaTsocialstory (case sensitive).
On this fun-filled day, more than 20 park district and emergency response vehicles, large and small, will be available to sit in and explore. Equipment will include a dump truck, bucket truck, Akron Children’s Hospital Air Bear® and more! Visitors can also look forward to:
- A sandbox with toy trucks and vehicles.
- Browsing and shopping children’s books, apparel and more at the Maple Leaf Gifts pop-up gift shop.
- Coffee and drinks available for purchase from Bereka Coffee (vegan milk options available).
- Free take-home fingerprint/ID kits for children from GASP (Guardians Advocating Child Safety and Protection).
Touch-a-Truck is supported by Acme Fresh Market, Akron Canton Builds and Akron Children’s Hospital.
Please note: The presence of emergency response vehicles is subject to availability.
