Beyond the Summit is a speaker series featuring environmental professionals discussing topics related to water in northeast Ohio. From watershed health to fishing best practices, each talk offers community members the chance to learn from experts shaping the future of our water resources. This month’s guest joins us from Old Woman Creek National Estuarine Research Reserve to talk about Lake Erie water quality.

    Kids in the Garden

    Join us in collaboration with Let’s Grow Akron for weekly hands-on gardening activities for children of all ages. Seed, sow, water, harvest…and enjoy! Each week we’ll have a game or craft, garden activity and a snack themed around what is growing and ready to harvest in the garden. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be held indoors.

    Good Garden Talks: Pruning and Disease Management

    Join us in collaboration with Let’s Grow Akron and OSU Extension to learn about proper plant pruning and disease management in the vegetable garden. The program will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.

    Firefly Fireworks

    Enjoy nature’s bioluminescent fireworks this holiday! Learn about this charismatic insect through engaging activities, then catch some fireflies of your own. Please bring your own flashlight and bug jar. Enjoy sparklers, while supplies last.
