DESCRIPTION:Join us for a walk from Big Bend to the northernmost point of the Portage Path. You’ll learn about the history of this vital link between North American waterways and about the statue of the portaging Indigenous person at the northern end of the portage. Artist Peter Jones (Seneca/Onondaga) created this statue and its twin to stand at both the northern and southern termini of the Portage Path. Route #80 will depart the Robert K. Pfaff Transit Center (631 S. Broadway\, Akron) for Munroe Falls Metro Park and back every 30 minutes beginning at 1:30 p.m. Ride free on METRO Direct and METRO ADA when you show the flier (paper or digital). Please note: The last departure from Munroe Falls Metro Park is 8:24 p.m.

SUMMARY:Good Garden Talks: High Tunnel & Hoop Bending
DESCRIPTION:Join us in collaboration with Let’s Grow Akron and OSU Extension for a hoop bending demonstration and talk on season extension in hoop houses and low tunnels and maintaining soil health. Participants may bring up to six 10-foot pieces of 1/2″ electromechanical tubing (EMT) to bend during the class for making a low tunnel at home. If you are interested in screening your soil for heavy metals\, OSU Extension will have low-cost soil test kits available onsite for purchase\, while supplies last.
