Presented by the Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition and Summit Metro Parks\, Summit Lake Float offers a morning of free kayaking and canoeing\, followed by afternoon pontoon boat rides. That’s not all the floating we’ll do — root beer floats will be available while supplies last. Advance registration is required and begins 6/1. \nProgram Schedule \n\n\n\n\n8 – 11 a.m. : Guided kayak trips with Summit Metro Parks. (Registration required)\n8 – 11 a.m. : Guided canoe trips with Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition. (Registration required)\n11 a.m. – 12 p.m.:  Kayak and Canoe Open House\n12 – 4 p.m. : Pontoon Boat Trips \nRoot beer floats will be available after 9 a.m.\, and while supplies last. \nRequirements for Participation \nKayaking with Summit Metro Parks: Minimum age for kayaking is 13; ages 13 to 17 must be with an adult participant. Participants must wear closed-toe shoes and be able to swim. Wear clothes that can get wet and bring a water bottle. Thanks to years of restoration work and improving river health\, lake sturgeon are making their way back. Help us mark this exciting moment and send the next generation of sturgeon on their journey into the Cuyahoga River. \nSmall visitor groups will have the opportunity to take turns releasing one young sturgeon into the river and learn about the ongoing efforts to restore the Cuyahoga River watershed. \nOn the same date\, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and Cleveland Metroparks will be hosting their own sturgeon release events.
