Frequently Asked Questions

Below are a list of commonly-asked questions. If you have additional ones, please feel free to try our site search or contact us.

Can I receive your publications for free?

Since the park district is funded by a Summit County real estate tax, we only mail our free publications to Summit County residents. However, Friends of Metro Parks will send our publications to its members who live outside of Summit County.

What's the difference between Summit Metro Parks and Cuyahoga Valley National Park?

Cuyahoga Valley National Park is part of the U.S. Government, Department of the Interior. Summit Metro Parks is a metropolitan park district that is funded by a Summit County real estate tax. While some Metro Parks are nestled within or near national park lands, they are managed by Summit Metro Parks staff. Still, in some of our conservation areas, CVNP manages bridle trails that originate in the national park.
