Pavilions

Facilities may be reserved up to 12 months in advance by Summit County residents, and 10 months by out-of-county residents.

To make a reservation, call 330-867-5511, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

 


FURNACE RUN METRO PARK / Brushwood Pavilion
4955 Townsend Rd., Richfield 44286

This rustic pavilion, originally constructed as a bathhouse in 1939, is situated amid beautiful green lawns, beech-maple woods and a scenic lake. The wheelchair-accessible pavilion has central air/heat, indoor restrooms, kitchen facilities* and a wood-burning stove that adds heat and atmosphere. There are 12 8-feet rectangular tables (each seats eight) and three 8-feet rectangular serving tables.

FIRESTONE METRO PARK / Coventry Oaks Pavilion
40 Axline Ave., Akron 44319

This stylish and comfortable wheelchair-accessible pavilion is surrounded by one of the finest protected wetland areas in Summit County. The pavilion has central air/heat, indoor restrooms, kitchen facilities* and a 2-feet by 5-feet charcoal grill. There are 15 6-feet round tables (each seats 10) and six 8-feet rectangular serving tables. The pavilion includes a projection screen; a podium and microphone are available upon request.

The wheelchair-accessible East Room has ceiling fans, indoor restrooms and kitchen facilities*. It has central air/heat, 19 8-feet rectangular tables (each seats eight) and two 8-feet rectangular serving tables. The room comes with a wall-mounted projection screen; a podium and microphone are available upon request.

This wheelchair-accessible pavilion is a cozy, enclosed building sheltered by the trees and hills of Sand Run Metro Park. It has central heat, kitchen facilities* and a wood-burning stove that adds heat and atmosphere. Restrooms are located in an adjacent heated building with hot and cold running water. There are eight 6-feet round tables (each seats eight) and no serving tables. An attached picnic area includes nine picnic tables, two standard grills and one 2-feet by 4-feet grill.

A wheelchair-accessible log cabin nestled under trees, Shady Hollow Pavilion provides a scenic setting for small gatherings. It has central heat, two ceiling fans, indoor restrooms, kitchen facilities* and a fireplace with wood-burning stove that adds heat and atmosphere. There are five 6-feet round tables (each seats eight) and no serving tables.

Did You Know?

Gobble, Gobble
Turkeys are becoming a common, year-round sight in the Metro Parks. Males are called gobblers, females are hens. The young are called poults.

Creative Commissioner
Inventor Waldo Semon, a Metro Parks commissioner from 1955 to 1969, created vinyl. One of our conservation areas is named for him.
