Summit Metro Parks Your Back Yard for 95 Years

Publications & Downloads

Green Islands Magazine

Green Islands is our signature publication. The magazine includes news about nature, programs, park improvements and more. It is produced bi-monthly and mailed free of charge to Summit County residents.*

If you would like to be added to the mailing list, click here.

*We only mail to in-county residents because the park district is funded by Summit County tax dollars. However, Friends of Metro Parks sends our publications to its members who live outside of Summit County.

Online Field Guide: Summer Mushrooms

This online-only resource highlights some of the mushrooms you may encounter while hiking in the Metro Parks. It is arranged in three sections: mushrooms with gills, mushrooms with pores, and other summer fungi.

Additional fungi guides are coming soon!

Programs & Events Guide

Programs-Events-July-2017.jpgThe August '17 issue of the Programs & Events Guide is the last one. It has been combined with Green Islands Magazine to form a new, all-inclusive publication.

Carry 16 parks and 125 miles of trails in your pocket! Download our mobile app from iTunes and Google Play.

The following features are included:

  • GPS-enabled directions, downloadable maps, restroom locations and more for all 16 of the district's parks and the multipurpose Bike & Hike Trail, Freedom Trail and its sections of the Towpath Trail
  • Brief descriptions of 40 trails, with filters based on difficulty and distance
  • A calendar of programs and events
  • Click-to-call phone numbers for rangers, the administrative offices, the visitors center at F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm and seasonal information
  • Locations of birding "hot spots," landmarks, fishing areas, sled hills and more
