About the Report
This piece is produced annually and mailed to elected officials and Summit County residents who receive Green Islands Magazine and/or the Programs & Events Guide.* If you would like to be added to the mailing list, click here.
*We only send publications to in-county residents because the park district is funded by Summit County tax dollars. However, Friends of Metro Parks will send our publications to its members who live outside of Summit County.

A Leaf, Mitten and Ghost
The leaves of the sassafras tree come in three distinct shapes: a leaf, a mitten and a ghost.
Native Navigation
The Indian Signal Tree, an unusually formed Bur oak in Cascade Valley Metro Park, was reportedly shaped by Native Americans to serve as a marker on the old Portage Trail between the Cuyahoga and Tuscarawas rivers.
