Departments

Metro Parks employs full-time, part-time and seasonal workers with a passion for the outdoors and a commitment to public service. Our success is due to the teamwork of the following departments:

Customer Service
The first point of contact when park users call or visit the administrative offices and F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm, whether to sign up for programs, obtain forms for the Fall Hiking Spree or reserve a pavilion for a family reunion

Interpretive Programming & Education
The naturalists in this department are the educational face of Metro Parks, promoting stewardship through programs, exhibits and activities.

Marketing & Communications
The department guides all communication with internal and external customers, including but not limited to newsletters, the Web site, special events, advertisements and hiking forms.

Natural Resource Management
The department protects the plants, animals and cultural features within our parks and conservation areas.

Planning & Development
Responsible for long and short-range physical planning, identifying and facilitating land acquisition projects, and providing design, engineering and construction oversight for capital improvement projects and major maintenance projects

Operations
The department's primary responsibility is the day-to-day care of the facilities and natural resources located in the park district.

Rangers
Park rangers patrol assigned areas and assist park patrons to ensure safe, enjoyable and pleasant experiences for all visitors.
