EARTH DAY CELEBRATION
Bring items to be recycled and enjoy a 1.6-mile hike at 6 p.m. with volunteers Dave Gates and Pat Patterson as they teach Leave No Trace ethics. Visitors will also learn ways to be green from Environmental Akron, the Summit-Akron Solid Waste Management Authority, and companies E-waste and Neoshred. The first 100 individuals/families who bring items to be recycled will receive a reusable nylon bag. Acceptable items include cardboard, phone books, newspapers, magazines, books, infant car seats and e-waste (e.g., batteries, cell phones, computers, VCRs and radios).
