Kayaking

Kayakers may access the Cuyahoga River through Gorge Metro Park.

The issuing of a special-use permit for river access is neither expressed nor implied approval of kayaking on the river by Metro Parks, Serving Summit County.

Please note: The park district does not own or control the water in the Cuyahoga River flowing through Gorge Metro Park. Kayakers must contact the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to determine what, if any, permission is needed before beginning the activity. Further, kayakers may also want to view American Whitewater, a website with a comprehensive overview of this section of the river.
